This is one of those games I was really excited to play when it came out, but was ultimately disappointed with it when I had a chance to play it. I had borrowed the game from a cousin of mine and played through it enough times to inadvertently discover the stage select the game had to offer for beating the game twice in a row, but the game really wasn’t what I was expecting. It was the little things that annoyed me about the game, like exploding turtles, completely new enemies (which haven’t been seen since this game), and Daisy… not Princess Toadstool (Peach). It’s an alright game, but I always felt that the first portable Mario Bros game should have been better than this.
Super Mario Land for the Game Boy was developed and published by Nintendo in 1989.
